If a single tooth is missing, it can be replaced with one implant which replaces the natural root. After adequate healing a crown is placed on top of the implant, replacing the lost tooth.
In cases where several teeth are missing, they can be replaced with either one implant per missing tooth or sometimes with a bridge, which requires fewer implants than the number of missing teeth. The option that will be best for your specific case will be discussed with you in detail before treatment.
If you are missing all of your teeth, they can be replaced using several implants or with an implant‑supported denture or bridge depending on your specific case.
